My career path was unconventional. After the birth of my three children, I transitioned into midwifery, obtaining a diploma in furniture design.
After my second and third births, I was captivated by the ambiance of the delivery room. Consequently, when my daughter reached two years of age, I enrolled in midwifery training. Balancing schoolwork and hospital internships with three young children proved challenging, yet my interest in this profession grew steadily.
Regrettably, during my internships, I frequently encountered perspectives, attitudes, and communication styles that clashed with my own. However, I was fortunate to learn from colleagues who not only possessed exceptional professional qualifications but also embodied the qualities I sought in an effective midwife.
Since then, I have dedicated myself to continuous development and acquisition of this multifaceted knowledge. This knowledge encompasses the physical and psychological processes of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, emphasising the holistic approach of treating the father, mother, baby, and family as a cohesive unit. It also entails respecting the competence of both the pregnant woman and her child, accompanied by appropriate communication that conveys positive suggestions and demonstrates a profound level of empathy.
